Your Donation Can Help Highlight a Cold Case

Southern New Mexico Unsolved Murders is now a recognized nonprofit by the IRS and the State of New Mexico.

We received our first grant of $2,000 from Grant County Crime Stoppers in August 2021.

We have an account at Western Bank in Silver City, where you can mail or drop off donations, anonymously if you prefer.

We are raising money for the following:

  • Rewards for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest or the location of the remains of David Ortiz Jr. or Toni Padilla. We would like to offer rewards starting at $5,000.

  • A billboard on Highway 180 between Hurley and Silver City, with the faces of some of the victims to remind people that these cases remain unsolved. The price for this is estimated to be around $4,500 for one year.

  • An anonymous tip line through We Tip, a California-based organization that works with municipalities and law enforcement to relay anonymous tips to help solve crimes. An estimate from We Tip was approximately $2,500 for a one-year contract.

  • The renewal of the domain name and website ($350yr) and the cost of obtaining any public records, including police reports, autopsy, toxicology and determination of death reports from the Office of the New Mexico Medical Investigator,

We need to raise at least $10,000 to begin to put these plans in place. We need your help. So do these families.
